August Commencement Information
Cap & Gown
Graduates participating in the Commencement Ceremony must wear academic regalia. Caps & Gowns are ordered through the Pacific University Bookstore (503-359-1082). Order forms below are due to the book store by June 15, 2017. Orders after the June 15th deadline are subject to an additional $15 charge. Bookstore will be open Commencement day from 8am-5pm.
CB Grad Announcements
All students must Apply for Graduation. You must Apply for Graduation through BoxerOnline by June 15, 2017. If you have a question about applying to graduate please conttact the Registrar's Office.
The Registrar’s Office reviews your degree requirements after you Apply for Graduation and contacts your Program Director if there are concerns. If you currently are taking courses at another institution to complete your degree, or have any questions about completing degree requirements, contact Kaitlyn Varuska at 503-352-2776 or email@example.com.
All accounts must be paid in full before you graduate. If you anticipate an outstanding balance after you graduate, please contact the Business Office to make arrangement for payment. Students with outstanding balances after graduation cannot receive their diplomas or transcripts.
Students who received federal student loans must complete exit interviews before graduating or leaving campus. The Financial Aid Office will contact you to set up those appointments.
It isn’t too early to make travel and hotel arrangements for your guests. Limited overnight accommodations are available in Forest Grove; in addition, a number of hotels and motels in Hillsboro, Beaverton and Portland are within driving distance of the Forest Grove campus. For more information, contact the Chambers of Commerce of each city, or the Washington County Visitors Association at 503-644-5555.
Tickets are not required.
All Pacific University parking lots are available on a first-come-first-served basis. No parking permits are needed. Please be courteous when parking on the streets in the neighborhoods around campus.
Accessible parking is available in parking lots around campus. In addition, College Avenue will have designated accessible parking spots, a drop-off area, and a golf cart shuttle to the ceremony for those needing assistance. All parking is on a first-come-first-served basis.
The commencement ceremony is outside on the East Lawn of Marsh Hall.

After Commencement, a press release announcing graduates is sent to their hometown newspapers. Students who do not want their information sent to news organizations, or have questions, should contact Media Relations Director Joe Lang at 503-352-2902 or email@example.com.
Each graduate is photographed by a professional photographer from Grad Images as s/he receives the diploma from President Hallick. To view or order your photo, go to their website. You will need your last name and year you graduated to access your photo. You can also call 1-800-261-2576.
All commencement ceremonies are recorded. The ceremonies can be watched live online. The live feed also includes captioning of the ceremony. Guests that are hearing-impaired or would benefit from watching the live video feed with captioning are encouraged to bring a smart-phone or tablet to watch the live feed during the ceremony in the stadium.
