Welcome to the CGE Newsroom. Every week, our Project Coordinators find an article, image, or video that addresses gender or societal issues. Here are the items they found important this week.
Please note that unless explicitly stated, the Center for Gender Equity is in no way related to the sources included here. CGE attempts to promote a loving, accepting environment, and at times the sources linked on this page can be abrasive and judgmental. By posting these links, CGE encourages open discussion about gender-related topics such as the basics of feminism, how to speak about transgender individuals, and the unfair treatment of marginalized peoples around the world, as a few examples. Please keep this in mind while reading these articles.
Girls Today—Keep Going!
Each month the Center for Gender Equity sponsors an after-school event for girls 12 to 15 to discuss all kinds of issues that concern them, in groups facilitated by Pacific University’s School of Professional Psychology and trained Pacific Undergraduates. This is a continuation of the Girls Today program that the Center for Gender Equity sponsors in the fall of each year with the American Association of University Women.
