Eli Sears, MA

Eli Sears, MA is an adjunct instructor of Healthcare Spanish at Pacific University. He received his BA and MA in Spanish at Portland State University where he also works as an adjunct Spanish instructor. Eli’s academic interests include linguistics, lexicography, dialectology, and Spanish second language acquisition. Since he began learning Spanish at the age of 18, he has acquired an advanced enough level of fluency to be mistaken on multiple occasions as a native speaker of Spanish.

Eli grew up in Oregon City, Oregon and has spent most of his adult life in the Portland metro area. In 2007, he spent one year abroad in Puebla and Veracruz. He and his wife Marisol have two beautiful girls, Camila and Lily.
