A pair of Pacific University alumni have received top honors for their work within the intercollegiate athletics communications profession.
Blake Timm '98, who served as the university's sports information director from 1999-2015, has been named the 2017 Warren Berg Award recipient by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The Berg Award is presented annually to a CoSIDA College Division member who has made outstanding contributions to the field of sports information, and who by his or her activities, has brought dignity and prestige to the profession. Timm is currently an assistant commissioner for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
Chelsey Chamberlain '12, received a CoSIDA Rising Star honor, presented to both a university division and a college division member with 10 years of service or less whose work at their institution and service, dedication, energy and enthusiasm to the profession make that individual a "rising star" in athletic communications. Chamberlain, a four-time All-Northwest Conference softball standout, began her career as a sports information assistant at Pacific following graduation and is currently an associate director of athletics communications at the University of New Mexico.
