Stuart-Shuman "lives the inherent activism, candor, humor, and resilience that are hallmarks of this vital study," said V Martin, director of the Center for Gender Equity.
"Sammie's enduring passion for musical theatre and her dedication to hard work with musicians, actors, and stage crew makes her a perfect candidate for this award," said Professor Dijana Ihas.
"Mr. Massey-Johnson's tenacity, maturity, passion, intellectual growth supersedes most of his peers," faculty wrote.

As a future dentist, Kara has traveled internationally with Global Brigades, and has worked to establish a chapter of Global Brigades here at Pacific — still a work in progress, but without Kara's initiative would not even be seed here."
He is a triple major in computer science, mathematics and economics who has been an intern at Intel Corp., where he will work full-time upon graduation.
