The School of Audiology in the College of Health Professions at Pacific University seeks candidates for an open-rank faculty position to participate in the on-going development of an accelerated three-year (121 credits), block-curriculum Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree program. The position is an 11-month, tenure track position. Start date is flexible. Candidates with clinical interests and expertise are especially encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include: (a) Teaching in the AuD program, both didactically and clinically; (b) Developing and maintaining a line of scholarship that results in dissemination and may include mentoring student scholarship (c) Participating in the overall development and growth of the school; and (d) Engaging in service to the school, college, university, and community.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Traits
Qualified candidates must have: (a) Earned research doctorate (PhD or EdD) in audiology, hearing science, or related field; (b) Oregon audiology license; individuals who do not yet hold but are eligible for an Oregon audiology license may be considered but the license must be acquired before the start date; (c) Commitment to interprofessional health care education and service delivery in keeping with the mission and vision of the College of Health Professions. The opportunity to provide direct clinical service while also mentoring students is available.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Traits
Desirable areas of expertise include auditory processing disorders, educational audiology, pediatric aural rehabilitation, tinnitus and/or implantable devices. Other areas of professional expertise may be considered if supportive of the overall growth of the School of Audiology and its AuD program and clinic. Desirable experience and traits include: (a) Teaching experience, preferably at the university level; (b) Clinical supervision experience, preferably at the university level; and (c) Scholarship commensurate with the level of experience. ASHA CCC-A and/or ABA Board Certification in Audiology is a plus.
Working Conditions | Typical university teaching, administrative, and clinical environment. Modified block-curriculum teaching format. Clinical service delivery, supervision, and teaching conducted during fall, spring, and summer terms.
