Grant Opportunities

The Office of Corporate & Foundation Relations offers two kinds of assistance to grant seekers at Pacific. First, the office provides access to a wide range of online resources which anyone can use to research funding opportunities for individuals, programs, projects, or the institution. CFR also has a library of print resources pertaining to foundations, corporate giving, higher-education institutions and related subjects.

Second, and complementing these resources, the office assists faculty and staff in making personal contacts with program officers at funding agencies, including philanthropic foundations and private corporations. Often, these organizations require grant seekers to contact a program officer in the early stages of proposal preparation. Program officers can be enormously helpful in refining ideas to conform to a funder’s guidelines and expectations.

If you would like to contact a funder, please email the Corporate & Foundation Relations Gift Officer to coordinate your approach. It is important that CFR work with you before you contact a program officer for two key reasons: 1) the University has numerous long-standing relationships with agencies, which can often be valuable in developing further ties; 2) the University may have a pending proposal that could either affect or be affected by another, new proposal.

Beyond identifying resources, CFR can provide assistance with proposal preparation and the administration of grants.

Information about the programs most likely to award research or sabbatical funding to Pacific faculty is compiled below. When planning your timeline to meet a grant deadline, take into account that preparing your application may take weeks or months: obtaining University approval can take at least a week and receiving a response from the funding organization can take six months or more. The earlier you let CFR know of your interest in applying, the better we can assist you.

Please keep in mind that some of the deadlines listed may be changed by the funder without notice. Be sure to confirm deadlines on the funder's website.
