Patrick Boyle, M.D. arrived at Pacific University in 2016 after spending over two decades as a Professor of Medicine at the University of New Mexico and a subsequent six years of private practice as an Endocrinologist in rural Oregon.  Dr. Boyle did extensive research sponsored by the National Institutes of Health in the field of type 1 and type 2 diabetes during his New Mexico years, but teaching medicine to students of all disciplines has always been his passion.  Seeing students discover and have the “ah, ha” moment motivates him.  He is responsible for the pharmacology curriculum that spans the entire didactic year, as well as teaching Endocrinology.  Outside of school, Dr. Boyle loves hiking, finding edible mushrooms, and has trained his dog to find truffles (yes, Oregon has truffles)!
