Phyllis Avidan Louke is a music educator with over 40 years experience, as well as a professional flutist, maintaining a large private flute studio in Portland, Oregon. She has performed, presented workshops, and conducted nationally, including at many of the annual National Flute Association Conventions, and local flute club events throughout the United States. She is sought after as a clinician and adjudicator at both the district and state level. Her articles have been published in national publications The Instrumentalist, Flute Talk, Flutists’ Quarterly, and Band World Magazine.
An internationally known composer and member of ASCAP, Mrs. Louke specializes in flute choir and pedagogical music, and along with Patricia George is the co-author of an award-winning series of pedagogical publications published by Theodore Presser Company which includes Flute 101: Mastering the Basics, Flute 102: Mastering the Basics, Flute 103: Mastering the Basics, The Flute Scale Book: A Path to Artistry, The Flute Vibrato Book, and Advanced Flute Studies: The Art of Chunking. www.phyllislouke.com, www.fabulousflute.com
