Suman Mann,MA
Suman Mann is a PsyD student at Pacific University who identifies as a second-generation Punjabi American. She works to be a culturally-competent, equity- and liberation-focused clinical psychologist. She has a passion for working with individuals who have minoritized racial-ethnic, sexual and gender identities, who are finding ways to cope with the impact of minority stress, systemic oppression and interpersonal as well as intergenerational trauma. She seeks to work to find effective ways of helping trauma-exposed, culturally diverse communities experiencing mental health and substance use concerns, particularly healing approaches that honor a person’s worldview, cultural context, and practices. She is learning to practice as a social-justice focused clinician and believes in meeting clients where they are at in order to best support them. Suman is working as part of the EDI outreach team at the Student Counseling Center.
