The Pacific University website at pacificu.edu is the primary online presence for the university and a global platform for sharing information about the Pacific community.
The website is a collaborative and constantly evolving resource. The Office of Marketing & Communications maintains the overall style and presentation of the university website. Trained web editors throughout the university manage, update, and create content for the website, based on assigned user roles. All of the content for the website sits on the university server, and all of our webpages are created within a customized content management system and framework.
Content hosted on the Pacific University website enjoys an extremely high ranking in search engines and the academic legitimacy of a .edu domain extension. External sites hosting content for academic areas, departments or campuses would dilute these benefits and are not allowed. Limited exceptions have been made where best practices support external sites, such as the Libraries and Athletics.
A redesigned homepage with a strong focus on discovery pathways was launched this August along with significant improvements to the MyPacific landing pages and newsfeeds throughout the site.
The third-party online form system JotForms has reached its end of life and will be retired from use at Pacific University on Oct. 1, 2018. Marketing & Communications and UIS are working collaboratively to ensure that the technology remains functional until transitions can be made to new systems and to identify replacement strategies
