On The Air: Pacific Football Slated For Four Games On Portland's CW

Pacific Football Players Ready To Take The FieldFOREST GROVE, Ore. - Pacific University football is getting a larger audience this fall, thanks to an agreement between the university and Portland's CW (KRCW Channel 32).

Four Boxer football games will air on the CW, including this Saturday's season opener against Chapman University at 7 p.m.

Due to the television contract, the Sept. 9 game between Pacific and George Fox will now kick off at 7 p.m. as well, instead of the originally scheduled 1 p.m.

"We are excited to begin this partnership with Portland's CW this fall and bring Boxer football to the airways in the Portland metro area," Pacific Athletic Director Keith Buckley said. "Showcasing the Northwest Conference on television is a nod to the highly competitive football played in this region.

The Boxers' final home game, Nov. 4 against Willamette, will also be televised at 4 p.m., as well as the season finale at George Fox on Nov. 11.

"This is a great opportunity to showcase our university to a wide audience and I thank all of the units on campus that worked to help us build the infrastructure to deliver on this project," Buckley added.

Nine local NWC games will be programmed along with the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and will air as doubleheaders on Saturdays this fall on Portland's CW.

"It's all about sports on Portland's CW this fall and we're delighted to expand our local sports broadcasts of the Northwest Conference this year to include Linfield University, George Fox University and now Pacific University," Tom Keeler, vice president and general manager of KOIN, and Portland's CW (KRCW) said.

"Viewers are now able to watch local student-athletes from Linfield, George Fox and Pacific compete live on broadcast television to viewers across the Portland-Salem-Vancouver DMA on free, over-the-air television and we are delighted to bring these games and stories to a local audience."

For viewers outside of the Portland area, all Pacific home games are streamed online at goboxers.com.
