Audiology Students Develop Audi-Buddy Program for Children with Hearing Loss

School of Audiology Students Courtney Crespi and Theresa Ravago Mireles developed the Audi-Buddy program in partnership with Shelby Atwill, AuD, and Tucker Maxon School, an Oregon-based non-profit auditory-verbal school where students who are deaf/hard-of-hearing (DHoH) and students with typical hearing learn together.

The article "Audi-Buddy Program: Developing a Symbiotic Relationship between Children with Hearing Loss and AuD Students" was published in the December 2020 edition of the Hearing Journal. Courtney and Theresa developed the Audi-Buddy program as their capstone project with advising from Dr. Lisa Bell.  This poster was to be presented at the American Academy of Audiology National Conference in 2020 with Dr. Atwill, but this conference was unfortunately canceled due to COVID-19.

The School of Audiology and Tucker Maxon are committed to continuing this wonderful program as soon as school is in-person once again.
