Barbara Johnson, PT, MSPH, PhD Joins School of Physical Therapy

Barbara is from Salt Lake City, UT where she worked as a clinician researcher in the Motion Analysis Laboratory at Shriners Hospital for Children.  Her research was focused on evaluating the effectiveness of physical therapy interventions for children with cerebral palsy and evaluation of functional motor skills, activity and participation in children with disabling health conditions.  She finished her PhD in disability studies in 2010 and spent a year at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse before coming to Pacific University.  She will be teaching pediatric neuromuscular examination and evaluation and psycho-social aspects of disability.  Barbara has 34 years of experience working with children with disabilities and their families.  She looks forward to exploring Oregon with her husband Mark and is excited to be joining the Pacific University physical therapy program.
