Brandon Gatke Named CIO/CISO for University Information Services

Following an extensive search, Pacific University welcomes Brandon Gatke as the chief information officer/chief information security officer (CIO/CISO), leading the University Information Services department. He joins Pacific on Dec. 2.

Prior to joining Pacific, Gatke led IT staff and technology initiatives throughout Oregon and the west coast for nearly 20 years. He served most recently as the CIO for LightPoint NW, a healthcare IT services company and as IT director and CIO at Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare. Along with a strong IT background, Gatke has extensive experience with HIPAA planning and compliance, which will be a tremendous asset to Pacific’s clinics and programs.

He earned an executive master of business administration from Pepperdine University in 2012, a master of science in applied information management from University of Oregon in 2008 and a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from Portland State University in 2000.

Gatke is a member of College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and a past member of Health Information Technology Oversight Committee of Oregon (HITOC), where he was appointed by the Oregon Health Authority.

In his spare time, Gatke volunteers with iUrban Teen, a program focused on at-risk African-American and Latino youth to increase access and knowledge about STEM+Arts careers, and Business Education Compact.
