College of Business Welcomes New Faculty in Fall 2018
The College of Business at Pacific University continues to grow. This year we welcome four new faculty members with experience in finance, accounting, and marketing. These new faculty members will provide students with a mix of academic expertise and professional experience. The COB faculty is committed to bringing our students a combination of real-world experience and cutting-edge scholarship in order to create the best possible learning environment.
Fan Chen, PhD
Assistant Professor, Finance
Dr. Chen received his PhD in Finance from the Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma. He has a number of recent publications along with an impressive list of international presentations. His primary fields of specialization are Corporate Finance, Market Microstructure, and Energy Economics. Dr. Chen’s research has been published in Journal of Financial Research, Energy Economics, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, and Journal of Economics and Business. Joe Hamilton, PhD
Assistant Professor, Accounting
Dr. Hamilton has earned his BS in Accounting from Emporia State University and his MBA, Master in Arts of Public Administration, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Syracuse University. Dr. Hamilton is a CPA certified in the State of Kansas. His primary research interests include earnings management, financial restatements and corporate governance with his dissertation focusing on the relationship between corporate governance and length of time between financial misstatements, detection, disclosure, and restatement. Zhuoming Peng, PhD
Associate Professor, Finance
Dr. Peng received his PhD in Finance from Texas Tech University, as well as his MBA in Finance from Oklahoma City University. Most recently, Dr. Peng has been an instructor at the University of Arkansas, Fort Smith with extensive teaching experience in both undergraduate and graduate finance programs. Learn More.
Brittney Stephenson, PhD
Assistant Professor, Marketing
Brittney received her PhD from Washington University St. Louis with her dissertation focusing on product line extension, and her research includes papers exploring brand perception. A recent paper on material purchases and consumer well-being was published in the Journal of the Association for Consumer Research. Learn More.
