Free DACA Renewal Virtual Clinic
This May Day, Immigration Counseling Services (ICS) is offering a no-cost virtual legal clinic for DREAMers to renew Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA status. Visit ICS to register May 1 for future information sessions.
The fate of DACA remains uncertain. Following the September issuance of a Department of Homeland Security memorandum rescinding DACA, several lawsuits were filed challenging the legality of the program’s termination. The U.S. Supreme Court is reviewing these federal court cases and is expected to issue a decision about the legality of DACA’s termination by June 2020. Under the nationwide injunctions currently in place, USCIS must accept applications only from individuals who were previously granted DACA.
The free legal clinic for DREAMers is in partnership with Catholic Charities, SOAR Immigration Legal Services, Causa, Latino Community Association of Central Oregon, PCC Dreamers Resource Center, PCC Paralegal Program, and Community Services Consortium serving Linn, Benton and Lincoln Counties, as well as many others.
