Gary Pacarro Named Director of New Hawai‘i Office
Gary Pacarro ’74 is the founding director of Pacific University’s new Hawai‘i Office.
Gary has been a long-time advocate for all Pacific students, particularly those from Hawai‘i. He has been closely involved in planning alumni, student recruitment and parent events on the islands and in building the university’s relationships with local people and businesses.
Most recently, Gary has served as a member of the Pacific University Board of Trustees, and he is a strong proponent of the effort to establish a formal universitypresence in Hawai‘i.
As he assumes this new position, he takes on a new role in the Pacific University family: representing the university to students and prospective students, families, alumni, donors and friends in Hawai‘i. He will establish the new university office in Honolulu, further develop relationships and articulation agreements with Hawai‘i high schools and community colleges, and support student recruitment, as well as alumni and donor relations activities in Hawai‘i.
Gary’s unique background in coaching, teaching and financial management, as well as his longstanding relationship with Pacific, make him uniquely qualified to represent the university in his home state.
Gary will assume his new duties Jan. 15, and the university will host grand opening events at the Hawai‘i Office on Jan. 25 and 26.
