Lu'au Tickets On Sale Beginning Thursday, March 5
Presented by the university’s Hawai‘i Club, Ná Haumána O Hawai`i, the 2015 event takes place on Saturday, April 11 and features an authentic meal and spectacular show that includes traditional Polynesian dance, music and more.
The meal takes place in University Center from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and consists of traditional staples kalua pig, chicken long rice, teriyaki chicken, poi, haupia, coconut cake and punch. The show will be held in the Stoller Center and begins at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 5:30). Ticket prices range from $15 to $38, depending on seating and dinner choice.
The Lu`au is a collaborative effort of Pacific students, including NHOH members, faculty, staff, local community members, businesses and family members residing in Hawai’i. Many students’ parents come from the Islands a week in advance to make leis and put together decorations.
The event annually sells out and the public is strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
