In Memory: Fran (Zenobia) Friesen ’68

Fran (Zenobia) Friesen ’68 died Mar. 21, 2019, at age 72, peacefully at her home. After attending Pacific, she settled in Salem, Ore., where she and her husband, Don, were married on Sept. 25, 1982. She taught Spanish and French for over 30 years at Salem’s Chemeketa Community College, often developing lasting friendships with her students.

She was passionate about travel and led many trips with students, friends, and family on adventures to France, Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Peru. She also enjoyed adventures closer to home, including rafting trips with her best friend. She loved concerts, festivals, plays, and 'game days' with family and friends. Her fun-loving spirit continued to prevail through her health challenges. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Peggy Zenobia; and son, Robert Carson. She is survived by her beloved husband, Don; daughter, Katy (and Noah) Kahn; and one grandson.
