National Advocacy Dinner Webinar

With support from Kori Hasti, executive director of the Oregon Physical Therapy Association, physical therapy students Sydney Zamora (’21) and Sydney Neumann (’22) helped to organize the National Advocacy Dinner webinar on April 16, 2020. Sydney Zamora led the effort in organizing this webinar and she is the former treasurer of Student Leadership Committee (2019-2020). Sydney Neumann is the current core ambassador of the Student Leadership Committee (2020-2021). Participants had the benefit of hearing from prominent physical therapists with state and national leadership roles. Each presenter discussed various ways that we can get involved in advancing our profession. The evening concluded with a rich discussion about the Oregon Physical Therapy Political Action Committee, the benefits of state and national association membership, and networking opportunities.
