Pacific Debuts New Homepage Design

Pacific University has debuted a refreshed design of our homepage.

The new homepage provides a clean, modern design that simplifies the user experience, providing clear pathways and a modern visual representation of the university.

Internal users, including faculty, staff and students, will find that their portals to key information have changed, but only slightly. You can find your important information by clicking “MyPacific” in the top menu and selecting the appropriate link from the dropdown menu. This is where you can find the current undergraduate, current graduate/professional, and faculty/staff newsfeeds, the employee directory, the calendar, and critical information for navigating support systems at Pacific.

The changes to the design were driven by a careful analysis of analytics and user data going back two years, along with research into web design and content strategy. It also takes into account an assessment of competitor websites. Undergraduate and graduate admissions teams, along with academic leadership, were actively involved in the redesign process.

Major improvements include:

  • A large banner image spanning the full width of the page
  • A simplified menu display combining the MyPacific and main menu into a single menu at the top of the page
  • A custom icon set linking to important pages

The refresh of the home page does not affect menus and navigation elsewhere in the site.

Websites are ever-evolving tools, and we look forward to continuing to evaluate and redesign the website to meet the needs of our prospective students, current students and employees, alumni and friends.
