Pacific Hosts Its First Queer Prom | Cancelled
The Queer Prom, scheduled for May 3, had been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. Organizers plan to reschedule for the fall.
Pacific University hosts its first ever Queer Prom from 7 to 10 p.m. May 3 at La Hacienda, 2020 S. Main St., in Forest Grove.
Queer prom is a reversal of the heteronormative gender roles and social conventions — and a chance to celebrate the queer community in a ritual many LGBTP people were unable to fully experience during high school.
The event will be an inclusive space for LGBTQ people to be their true and most authentic selves. It is open to Pacific students as well as community members — this is the only Queer Prom in Washington County. People of all genders or sexual identities from throughout the community are welcome!
Tickets are $5 for Pacific University students, or $20 for community members.
The Queer Prom is hosted by the Pacific University Center for Gender Equity.
