Prepare for Google Quota Changes Coming in July

This is a reminder message that Pacific University will begin enforcing new quotas on all university accounts beginning July 1, 2023. Current and continuing students and employees will be set to a maximum storage of 50 GB and alumni accounts will be set to a maximum of 10 GB.

Accounts currently using more than the assigned storage quota have until July 1, 2023, to move files to meet the new storage quotas. To see how much storage you currently use, go to your Storage page.

Graduating students: pay special attention to your storage usage as you will transition to alumni accounts after graduation. Your account will changeover to the alumni 10 GB quota limit on July 1, 2023.

If you are near your storage limits, UIS suggests that you use the following steps to avoid service disruptions with your Pacific University Google account:

  1. Confirm your personal data usage in Google Drive Storage Settings.
  2. Review and delete large or unnecessary files from your Google Drive
  3. Use Google's Manage files in your Google Drive storage guide to search for and delete unnecessary or large emails.
  4. Move personal files to your own storage using our Knowledge Base article Exporting Google Account Using Google Takeout.

If you are below the storage limit, and do not anticipate exceeding the quota limit in the future, no further action is needed to continue to use your alumni account.
