Reminder: Boxer Alerts Emergency Notification System Test on Friday

Students, Faculty and Staff,

A reminder that the university will test the Boxer Alerts emergency notification system on Friday, Sept. 21 at 12:15 p.m. At that time, you should receive both a text message and email message titled "SYSTEM TEST."

In emergency situations, the university sends mobile phone text messages to initially communicate what to do or where to go. To ensure you receive these critical communications in a timely manner, please login to your Boxer Alerts account now to update your mobile phone number, and be sure to select your carrier (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc.).

IMPORTANT: If you do not select your carrier, you may experience a delay in receiving a Boxer Alert.  If your account lists your current mobile phone number, but does not have a carrier designated (e.g. "Default"), you must resubmit your phone number to add the carrier.

If you have questions, or need assistance, please contact the Technology Helpdesk at help@pacificu.edu or 503-352-1500.

Your safety and security are among the highest priorities of Pacific University. In addition to regular testing of the Boxer Alerts system, the university regularly conducts exercises such as building evacuation drills to practice and evaluate emergency preparedness. Evacuation drills at the Forest Grove and Hillsboro campuses will take place in the near future. Please take a moment to review the university's Evacuation Assembly Areas and Emergency Procedures.

Thank you for your attention and assistance.
