Ryann Lewis '20 DPT Elected as Delegate for APTA Virginia Chapter

Ryann Lewis '20 DPT was recently elected as a Delegate for the American Physical Therapy Association's Virginia chapter. This professional accomplishment is especially impressive given that she is a new resident of Virginia, but not surprising given her involvement with APTA – Oregon when she was a student at Pacific University. As the 2019 Emerging Student Leader Award recipient, Dr. Lewis participated in Oregon Delegate meetings and attended the APTA House of Delegates, which is the policy-making body of the national organization. Her term starts in 2021 and as a Delegate for APTA – Virginia, she will attend the APTA House of Delegates, vote on policies that affect the profession, attend caucus meetings, and participate in leadership retreats, among other responsibilities. Dr. Lewis is also a new member of the Virginia Political Action Committee.
