School of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Students Volunteer for Community Action

School of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training students volunteered for Community Action, a non-profit organization that assists residents of Washington County in need. The College of Health Professions Interprofessional Student Diversity Group helped to organize this opportunity for our students.

During their annual benefit, Kaleidoscope, our students assisted by registering guests, monitoring the silent auction, and processing gifts. After the silent auction, Community Action dignitaries including Dr. Ann Barr-Gillespie, Chair of the Board of Directors, who is also Vice Provost and Executive Dean for the College of Health Professions at Pacific University, welcomed attendees. During the dinner, attendees participated in the live auction and heard an inspirational testimonial on the help, hope, and change that Community Action provides. The 350 attendees helped to raise $228,310, all of which will go to support the critical programs and services offered by Community Action.
