Schweitzer Named Interim Director of MSW Program

Dr. Don Schweitzer has been named interim director of the Pacific University Master of Social Work Program in Eugene.

Schweitzer is an associate professor and director of field education in Pacific’s bachelor of social work program in Forest Grove. He earned his PhD in social work and social research from Portland State University, his master’s in social work from Boise State University, and his bachelor of arts in social work from Idaho State University. Schweitzer received a competitive National Institute of Child and Human Services Development Grant in 2012. 

Schweitzer succeeds the MSW Program’s founding director, Spencer Zeiger. Pacific welcomed its first class of MSW students in Eugene in Fall 2014. The two-year program offers a route to a career as a professional social worker, with specialty tracks in Health and Wellness and in Latino Families and Cultures.
