Share Stories with Online News/Media Posts
Starting August 5, 2019, anyone with a PUNet ID will be able to create news/media posts that can be sent out on a variety of newsfeeds throughout the site. The website saw about 900,000 unique visitors in the past year alone, making this a powerful communication tool that all students, faculty and staff will be able to harness.
News/Media posts use a simple, customizable tagging system to generate feeds that is based on tags. Newsfeeds can be added on any page throughout the site to target specific audiences. This makes it a valuable method for providing information to current students, faculty and staff as well as sharing Pacific University's stories with a global audience.
This enhancement is part of a major update to the Pacific University website that launches a new integrated online calendar and an updated MyPacific online tools interface.
To start, click the MyPacific link in the top toolbar menu (available August 5). You will be asked to sign in with your PUnet ID and then be redirected to the upgraded Online Tools interface, customized by audience. There will also be menu links to add News/Media Posts and Calendar entries.
Video tutorials on adding calendar entries, news/media posts and more will be available starting Monday.
