UC Opens for Meals

With the first phase of its refresh complete, the Washburne University Center is now open.

The Grove, the new dining commons, opened for dinner Saturday, Sept. 6, and is now providing daily meals on campus. Frequent diners are encouraged to take advantage of pre-purchased meal plans that come in increments to fit your needs. Meal plans are available for students, as well as for staff and faculty.

Guests and occasional diners may pay at the door with cash, debit or credit cards, or with Dining Dollars.

Meals are now all-you-care-to-eat, meaning once you pay, you can return to the food stations for refills throughout the meal time.

Pay-as-you-go meals prices are:

  • Breakfast, served weekdays 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., $5.50
  • Lunch, served weekdays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., $6.50
  • Dinner, served weekdays 5 to 7:30 pm., $7.50

More meal information is available from Dining Services.

The refreshed University Center also features new restrooms and furniture, a glass skylight ceiling, and the Boxer Pause lounge (formerly the Alumni Room).

Phase 2 of the UC refresh, featuring the exciting new retail section of the building, is expected to be complete in late September. The retail section will include the move of the Barnes & Noble at Pacific University Bookstore, the opening of the POD Market (Provisions on Demand), and the new, full-service Starbucks.

The UC refresh is part of a larger campus transformation project that took place on the Forest Grove Campus over the summer. Also included was the construction and opening of Cascade Hall, the newest residence building on campus, and the roof over the grandstands at Hanson Stadium, which was dedicated on Saturday, Sept. 6.
