Weather and Campus Operations Updates

Update: Monday, Feb. 27, 5:05 a.m.

Pacific University is open as usual.

Practice awareness and safety when walking in potentially slick conditions:

  • Wear shoes with good traction and slip-resistant soles.
  • Put away your phone, keep your hands free, and watch where you are walking.
  • Walk slowly, and step straight down (not out), especially when exiting a vehicle or stepping off a curb.
  • Beware of possible wet or slippery floors in building entrances.

Update: Friday, Feb. 24, 12:40 p.m.

Pacific University will be open with limited hours on Saturday, Feb. 25.

  • Forest Grove and Hillsboro campus buildings will close at 7 p.m. Saturday in advance of the possibility of additional ice or snow. • The Jim Flory memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday will continue as scheduled. Guests are encouraged to park on College Way and follow the fire lane to the UC for the clearest pathway. Shuttles from the street to the building will also be available for those in need of assistance.
  • Check with event organizers for potential changes to other individual campus events.

Streets and walkways around Pacific’s campuses remain slick with ice and snow, and tree branches may be weakened by heavy snow accumulation. Please use extreme caution if you choose to travel to Pacific’s campuses.
