Welcome Michael Bridges, PT, DPT - Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy

Welcome Michael Bridges, PT, DPT, Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy.

Michael originally came to Oregon from outside of the California Bay Area to attend Oregon State University where he studied Mechanical Engineering.

After working as a Design Engineer who focused on cab suspension and clutch controls for Class 8 Tractors he found an interest in biomechanics and completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Pacific University. Upon graduation he worked as an outpatient therapist seeing a variety of patient types with a strong focus on shoulder and foot pathologies. He also became a clinic lead and was selected to an Oregon wide innovation group looking to improve the delivery of health care in the region. Outside of his clinical work, he continues to enjoy developing products and has created a company with Dr. John Medeiros.

After assisting in Orthopedics and Physical Agents, he joins Pacific University full time this year as a Co-Instructor in Physical Agents and Biomechanics while covering the sabbatical of Dr. John Medeiros.  He and his wife Crystal are excited to grow with the Pacific University family as they have recently welcomed their new son, Charles, to their own family.
