The Placement Services Office of the College of Business at Pacific University is launching two new initiatives this fall. Under the direction of Wanda Frazier, Placement Services works to provide business students with ways to explore their career options and best prepare them for internships and career opportunities.
The Tom McCall Center for Civic Engagement hopes everyone will participate in the midterm election on Nov. 6, 2018. As a college student, you have the choice to vote in Oregon or as an absentee resident of your home state. In addition to casting a ballot, there are opportunities to help register fellow student voters or inform others on election issues.

Oregon Optometric Physicians Association Awards Inaugural Scholarships to Pacific Optometry Students
The only professional association for optometry in Oregon, the OOPA recently established the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association Scholarship at Pacific, which has already benefited five current doctor of optometry students.
The NSF announced this month it had awarded Associate Professor Andrew Dawes, physics and a team of undergraduate researchers a third, three-year grant to study quantum optics. “I’m proud we can offer a lab environment with the same cutting-edge equipment you would find at top-tier institutions like Harvard and M.I.T.,” Dawes said.
