Pacific University political science professor Jim Moore says the U.S. drone strike in Iraq Jan. 3 is consistent with Trump’s unpredictable, go it alone nature, often ignoring the advice of his advisors. Moore delivered his comments recently on radio and television news programs. Local media and journalists around the globe know him as an expert on the Middle East.

A music scholarship at Pacific opened artistic doors for Leiana Petlewski ’21 and helped ignite her creative passion. She plays the cello in the symphonic orchestra and is a member of the dance ensemble. Now a junior, Petlewski is majoring in applied theatre and dance.

Pacific University is pleased to host the annual Hap Hingston Forensics Invitational speech and debate tournament to be held Saturday, Jan. 11, to Sunday, Jan. 12. Pacific is also pleased to host the annual Fred Scheller Forensics Invitational speech and debate tournament to be held Friday, Jan. 24, to Sunday, Jan. 26. Both tournaments are looking for judges.
