What does the Associate Dean for Student Academic Affairs Do?

  • Provides information and interpretation regarding academic rules and regulations.
  • Assists students who wish to petition for exceptions to or waivers of academic requirements.
  • Monitors student academic performance and statuses; provides guidance and referrals for students on Warning, Probation and Suspension.
  • Provides final approval of independent study and internship contracts.
  • In certain circumstances, approves late adds; drops; withdrawals.
  • Serves as ombudsperson for student/faculty relations.
  • Handles all cases of student academic misconduct; provides information to students with questions/concerns regarding the academic conduct policy.
  • Refers students to various areas of support on campus.
  • Oversees Advising, Career and Tutoring & Learning center directors.
