Pacific Childcare through Nextdoor:

To help support caregivers in the Pacific University community, a private Pacific-only group has been created on to facilitate sharing of caregiving opportunities and needs. Pacific employee and student caregivers are encouraged to join the group, and to use this as a forum for creating childcare pods, seeking assistance with care, and other related activities. Helpful Questions for Parents to ask Childcare Providers:

  1.  Is the provider certified, licensed or accredited? Request documentation and/or verify with the state.
  2. What is the adult-to-child ratio for care? How many children under the age of two are in the care?
  3. Is the provider trained in first aid? Certified in infant and child CPR?
  4. What are the security, safety and emergency policies? Are there plans in place? Ask to see these in writing.
  5. What is their billing policy? Do you provide receipts for income tax credits?
