Welcome from the Dean

Welcome to the School of Graduate Psychology (SGP) at Pacific University!

Joaquin Borrego, Jr., PhD Dean of School of Graduate PsychologyOn behalf of our faculty, staff, students, and alumni, we are excited that you are considering the School of Graduate Psychology as your academic home for your future psychology graduate studies. Our school is growing and dynamic. We have four training programs: a terminal master’s degree (Applied Psychological Sciences) program, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical Psychology program, a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology program, and a pre-doctoral internship program that is part of our Pacific Psychology and Comprehensive Health (PCH) Clinic. SGP has 30 faculty across our terminal master’s and two doctoral programs. In addition, we have approximately 370 graduate students.

In SGP, we greatly value and respect diversity. All that we do with respect to teaching, research, and service is framed within a culturally-informed model. Given we are one of eight schools in the College of Health Professions (CHP), we have an Interprofessional learning model focused on working with underserved and marginalized populations.

Students admitted to one of our training programs will be presented with numerous training and education opportunities.  These can range from serving as a teaching assistant for a graduate-level course, being involved in different practica, presenting your scholarship at conferences, and/or working with faculty on publications.

I encourage you to explore our website and I am confident that many of your questions will be answered as you explore our pages. Please do not hesitate to contact one of our admissions coordinators if you have any questions about our training programs.
