COVID-19 Impact on Human Subjects Research (HSR): In-person HSR requires specific IRB approval. Pacific University is currently reviewing and approving research requests for in-person research involving the Pacific community. In-person research activities involving members of the community may be required to submit additional materials for consideration. The IRB will work with researchers on an individual basis.
The IRB Process
The IRB has provided detailed information about submitting a proposal to the IRB (IRBNet-IRB, Submission Guidelines, Forms & Templates, Post-Approval Management), the training required of all researchers engaged in human subjects research (Ethics Training), and guidance for ensuring you maintain research records in an ethical and compliant manner (Regulatory Binder & Audit Process). Please use these links or the tabs to the left for detailed guidance.
All IRB proposal forms, supplemental guidance, and detailed instructions in how to submit to the IRB are located in IRBNet (online proposal submission system) in the Forms and Templates Library. Please refer to these doucments for the most up-to-date information on HSR and submitting to the IRB.
