Ethics Training | IRB
The Office of Scholarship and Sponsored Projects at Pacific University subscribes to CITI (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) to provide all training for researchers, project personnel, and administrators in the areas of human subjects, animal, and biomedical research, as well as training in COI, Good Clinical Practices, Information Security, and Responsible Conduct of Research.
IRB Training Requirements
All members of the Pacific community engaged in human subjects research are required to demonstrate receipt of human subjects research training. If you have a current training certificate (either from NIH or CITI), your training is still valid. Beginning in 2017, all researchers and administrators in need of training must complete the training through CITI.
Setting up a CITI Account or Adding Pacific to an Existing CITI Account
New Account - Provides step-by-step instructions for setting up an account.
Add Affiliation – How to add Pacific as an affiliate institution if you already have a CITI account.
You will be prompted to provide basic information about yourself, associate with Pacific University, and select areas of training.
IRB Users – All researchers involved in human subjects research are required to complete training. CITI provides modules specific to the type of human subjects research in which you are engaged (biomedical, social & behavioral) - please choose accordingly. It may be that you will need to complete both modules depending on the nature of your study.
You may add training modules at any time should the need arise or the IRB require you to complete additional training.
