Frequently Asked Questions about Homecoming

When will the Homecoming weekend schedule be available?

The weekend schedule will be available this summer at

How can I volunteer to help plan my reunion?

Reunion volunteers are greatly appreciated and accepted all year round! To sign up to become a reunion volunteer, please contact the Senior Director of Alumni & Community Engagement, Martha Calus-McLain '03 at or 503-352-2764.

What is the difference between Homecoming and Reunion?

Homecoming is a community-wide event where alumni, parents, students and friends can connect with the university and Forest Grove. Some reunions take place during Homecoming and are specific opportunities for groups of alumni (usually class years or affinity groups) to gather.

Where do events take place?

With the exception of when noted in the event description, all events take place on the Forest Grove Campus. All Homecoming guests are asked to stop in at the Homecoming Welcome Center to pick up essential materials before attending any events. If your first event of the weekend takes place off-campus, you do not need to visit the Welcome Center first, but we hope you’ll stop by when you arrive on campus.

Where can I park on campus?

Homecoming guests are invited to park in open permit university lots with a parking pass. Passes can be printed in advance or be picked up at the Welcome Center throughout the weekend. Parking is also available on the streets surrounding campus, no permit required. Guests with limited mobility are invited to take advantage of our limited mobility parking in Parking Lot G with campus shuttle access. To acquire a limited mobility parking permit, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at or 503-352-2057.

How do I find out who will be there?

After registration for Homecoming has opened, alumni who register for Homecoming will have their names listed on the Who’s Coming page.

Can my Pacific University student attend events with me?

Pacific University students are welcome to attend all Homecoming events. Pacific students receive one free ticket to the football game, which they may pick up from the Athletic Department during designated times. Pacific student tickets are not distributed through Homecoming registration.

Do I need to register?

Yes! Registrations help us decide how much food to order and how many seats to provide. Even if an event is free, it is helpful for the event planners to know how many guests to expect.

Why do I have to pay to attend Homecoming events?

The registration fees help pay for student event staff, postage, printing, rental of tables, chairs, china, table linens, mementos, nametags and catering. The university greatly subsidizes Homecoming in an attempt to make the event affordable for all guests.

How does Reunion Giving make a difference?

Your reunion is an occasion to renew ties with classmates and reflect on what Pacific University means to you. It is also a time for alumni to come together in giving back. While steeped in tradition, Pacific must continually expand programs and increase opportunities for students and faculty. Your reunion giving contributions help maintain and enhance the Pacific experience through scholarships, academic innovations and new initiatives.

Please make a gift in honor of your reunion today. Donations can be made online or mailed to:

Pacific University
UC Box A162
2043 College Way
Forest Grove OR 97116

Reunion gifts can be made in honor of a faculty member or classmate that impacted your life at Pacific. Gifts by alumni to any established Pacific University fund will count toward your class alumni participation.

What should I wear?

Casual fall attire is recommended for most Homecoming events. The Golden Guard Lunch Celebrating the Class of 1967 includes a formal program and dressy casual is recommended.

I have a dietary restriction; will there be food for me?

Vegetarian and gluten free food will be provided at all catered events. If you have other dietary restrictions or allergies, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations in advance and we will take steps to assure we can accommodate your needs.

Are there any local hotels?

Please see our accommodations page for hotels that have offered special rates in the past and for a list of local hotels.

Can I bring my kids?

Absolutely! Homecoming is intentionally designed to be family friendly and children are welcome at all events. Children 12 and younger can attend for free with the exception of the football game.

Is there a late fee?

There are no late fees, though reservations are appreciated in advance.

Can I receive a refund if necessary?

The Office of Alumni Relations provides refunds one week prior to the event, except in the case of group ticketing events (i.e. sporting and theater events) when two weeks are required. All refunds require notification via phone or written statement cancelation. In all instances refunds will not be offered after the applicable time period, regardless of circumstance. Refunds will be issued up until a week prior. Cancelations received after that time cannot be refunded.

Are there tickets for Homecoming?

Although tickets are not required for Homecoming gathering and reunions, we ask that you check in at the Welcome Center to pick up your nametag, affinity buttons and other important information about the weekend. The football game does require tickets for admission. Advance purchase tickets will be available at Will Call. Tickets may also be purchased at the box office two hours prior to the game.

Is there a way for me to get from the airport to Forest Grove/my hotel?

Pacific University has partnered with the Hillsboro Airporter to provide guests with exclusive service between Forest Grove and PDX. Homecoming guests can enjoy shuttle service for $70 one way (up to 3 guests, a $10 savings) and $75 (4-5 guests, a $15 savings). Gate fee will also be waived.
