Cornelius Cinemas screens Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on their largest screen for Pacific students only. To guarantee a seat and save time at the theater, please register for a ticket by Thursday, Sept. 23. Cornelius Cinemas follows all current requirements for COVID-19 and this screening is private for Pacific University students only.
Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) avoids his family's past, living an ordinary Millennial life as Shaun in San Francisco, working alongside his friend Katy (Awkwafina). When Shang-Chi's destiny calls, "the movie becomes a full-blown dysfunctional family drama with darkly funny overtones," says NPR's Jason Chang, and brings "unusual emotional intensity for a superhero movie." Chang offers contrasting praise, "you almost– almost–forget you're watching a Marvel movie," in his review.
Rated PG-13 for for sequences of violence and action, and language. 132 minutes runtime. Sponsored by ACE Board: Activities, Culture, Engaging Entertainment, from your Student Senate.
Pacific students may still get a ticket at the theater on Friday with Pacific student ID. Please arrive with the individuals you wish to sit with: the ticket system utilizes assigned seating. Don't have a ride? TriMet offers service on the 57 bus. The agency's trip planner indicates three busses depart for Forest Grove, beginning at 11:22 from Baseline and N 26th Street (Stop ID: 284) and will take you to the corner of campus at Pacific Avenue and Cedar Street. Bring your mask and a friend.
