Pacific University's music festival, Music in May, has been canceled due to health concerns surrounding the spread of COVID-19. This is the first cancelation in more than 70 years, but it just makes us more determined to make next year's festival that much better. One of the longest running high school music festivals in the U.S. is back in 2020. Music in May started in 1948 at Pacific University and runs May 21, 22, and 23.

Last year, more than 500 participants from across the Pacific Northwest took part in choir, band, orchestra and string music. Students learn from distinguished guest conductors for three days and perform in a festival concert in the Stoller Center on the last day.

Students stay overnight in Pacific dorms during Music in May. Applications must be postmarked by Friday, February 14, 2020.
