Join us for the opening reception for the exhibit Patchwork Galaxy at the Cawein Gallery on Thursday, September 5 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

In “Patchwork Galaxy”, the painter, Kendra Larson and musician, Christopher Buckingham explore symbolism, light, and the universe. This project that consists of an installation and series of talks that dig into that question. They bring mysterious night skies, fireworks, and the magic of stars into the gallery to create an uncanny experience.

The exhibit runs from Sept. 2 through Sept. 30 and the gallery is open Monday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

This multimedia installation combines paintings, linen panels hanging from the ceiling, LED’s installed throughout, two projections of fireworks, and a soundscape of guitars and piano. This painterly environment evokes wonder, questions nature, and champions the Sublime. An artist talk will accompany the project. Cosmologist Todd Duncan PhD will also contribute with a talk about the cosmos and wonderment.
