AMIGOS Provides Eye Care to Communities in Need

In spring of 2016, AMIGOS teams traveled globally to Peru, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, and locally to Fossil, Ore. to provide eye care to underserved communities.

Caring for Student-Athletes at Pacific

At Pacific, caring for student-athletes is a community affair. Before any football players stepped onto Ledbetter Field for practices, they received care from dental hygiene and optometry students.

A Message from President Hallick on DACA

I know that I am not alone in saying that I was deeply dismayed by the announcement made yesterday morning that the Trump Administration plans to rescind the policy known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) that has benefited more than 800,000 of our nation’s youth.

Alumna Takes On Public Health Challenges

After working as a dental hygienist in a federal women's prison and then as a special assistant to former U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, Jessica Scruggs ’09 is now operations director for Murthy's nonprofit startup focused on promoting emotional health. 

Sweet Rehabilitation

An endowed faculty grant allowed Pacific University Associate Professor Rik Lemoncello to launch the project of his dreams: a bakery that helps people with traumatic brain injuries return to work and fun. Sarah Bellum's Bakery & Workshop opened in Summer 2017, offering hands-on experience for students in Pacific's speech-language pathology program.
