Application Information
Prospective Participants
Over five years (2012-2017), EL-STEM endorsement participants will include:
- 40 pre-service teachers, who are also NSF Noyce Scholars
- 80 in-service STEM teachers, recruited from partner districts
Eligibility Requirements
An in-service candidate for this funded program must be:
- Currently employed in our partner school district
- Endorsement in math, science, engineering, technology subjects (or multiple subjects if licensed to teach grades six to eight)
- Teaching math, science, technology content at their school
A pre-service candidate must be admitted to our Woodburn STEM MAT program through the NSF Noyce Scholarship.
Length of the Program
One year (12 calendar months). The upcoming pre-service and in-service cohorts will start in late June 2016 and end in mid-June 2017.
Course Delivery Format
The in-service cohort program is delivered 100 percent online, except for the ESOL practicum that needs to be done in an actual classroom.
The pre-service cohort program is part of the Woodburn STEM MAT program.
Admissions
We are currently accepting applications for the upcoming in-service and pre-service cohorts (June 2016 to June 2017). The application deadline for the in-service cohort is April 15, 2016. Those who are interested in participating in this funded program are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible.
The EL-STEM applicant needs to submit only one Applicant Evaluation Form completed by their administrator/supervisor. Also, the application fee is waived for the EL-STEM program applicant.

- A current resume
- Official transcripts from each college/university attended
- Copy of current teaching license
- One Applicant Evaluation Form (included application form) completed by the candidate's administrator/supervisor
