Distance Learners

You have access to the Pacific Libraries' resources, no matter how far away you may be!

Accessing Materials

Many resources are available to you on the homepage. View eBooks, eJournals and search our databases with your PUNetID and password. Use ILLiad (our interlibrary loan system) to request copies of articles when no online access is available.

(Tip: when searching Boxer Search and our databases for online articles, when there is no PDF to download, click the Request from another library or Total Access button and ILLiad will open. Login in to your account and the citation will automatically populate the request form, all you do is hit Submit!)

If you are located in Oregon, Washington or Idaho, you also have access to books from a variety of Summit libraries. If you live near one, ask them about their Visiting Summit Patron policies. Some Summit libraries will be able to "adopt" you as a Summit patron and you would be able to choose that location for delivery of your Summit items. There may also be public or special libraries in your community that may provide access to more materials. Find a library near you here.

If you need your library materials mailed directly to you or to a campus other than Forest Grove or Hillsboro, use WorldCat and our ILLiad  system to request items. When searching WorldCat for books, DVDs, and other loanable materials look for the Request from Interlibrary Loan link. When you find the item you want and click this link, ILLiad will open. Login with your PUNetID and password, and the request form will auto-populate with the information from WorldCat, just click submit to activate your request. Using WorldCat you can request items available at Pacific, Summit and World Wide libraries.

Contact ILL staff at ill@pacificu.edu to arrange for mailing of these materials to your preferred address and if you have questions on ILLiad or using WorldCat to request materials, we are happy to help.
