From the Director | Master of Social Work
As the director of the MSW program, I welcome you. Our MSW degree program is nationally and internationally recognized with an accreditation approved by the Council on Social Work Education through 2021. Graduates will find professional satisfaction, mobility, and practice choices throughout the country, in both government and private service organizations. The MSW degree is eligible for licensure in all 50 states.
I welcome you to view our webpages to learn more about the strengths of our faculty, who brought their practice and research experience to Eugene from many places; the innovative curriculum providing students with excellent knowledge and skills to contribute to health and social care; and the competencies to promote health and well-being in Latino families and communities. We are exploring and expanding opportunities for you to gain competencies through partnerships with the College of Health Professions and College of Education at Pacific University, school districts, urban and rural health and social services agencies in the Lane County, and the state of Oregon.
Social work education at Pacific University is an educational continuum. To ensure educational opportunities throughout Oregon, we are planning to deliver additionally a BSW curriculum in Eugene and a MSW Advanced-standing curriculum in the fall of 2018. Please check back in November for updates on the development of these academic initiatives. I would like to invite you to consider submitting an application to our MSW program in Eugene and possibly the MSW Advanced-Standing program in the Forest Grove area (anticipated beginning date of August 2018).
Again, I welcome you to the Pacific University and our MSW program in Eugene.
