Staff Senate Members 2020-2021
Senators are elected by a peer vote to represent staff at large and serve a two-year term.

Rudy Sanchez (2021)
Rudy graduated from Pacific in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. As a student, he served on the Student Senate for two years and worked with multiple student groups. In 2017, he returned to Pacific to work in Undergraduate Admissions where he has helped recruit future Boxer students. Outside of work Rudy enjoys running, reading, and watching sports, especially when the Boxers are competing at home.

Lauren Brownrigg (2022)
Lauren has been a member of Pacific community for over 8 years, as the Senior Associate Athletic Director. A graduate of the University of Kansas where she was a Cross Country/Track & Field student-athlete, Lauren also completed her graduate work at the University of Washington. She was previously the Staff Senate Chair in 2016-17 and looks forward to returning to that roll and serving the campus community.

Rita Barton (2021)
Rita earned a BFA in Art History at Virginia Commonwealth University and has worked at Pacific in the School of Pharmacy since 2008. More recently, she completed certificate programs in Business, Change and Project Management, and is working toward Lean Certification, all through PSU’s Center for Executive and Professional Education. She is a member of the American Association of University Women, the Project Management Institute, and the Association of Change Management Professionals. She served on Staff Senate and the Honors & Awards Committee from 2012-2014, and is enthused to contribute to the Senate and the University once again. Outside of work, she enjoys time with family, friends, dogs, artistic pursuits including music and drumming, and growing things.

Peter Yellico (2022)
Pete Yellico is entering his eighth season as the Head Men's Tennis Coach. He graduated from Pacific University with a major in Finance in 2016. Prior to coming to Pacific he served five years in the United States Navy as an aviation ordinance man on the U.S.S. John C. Stennis, a nuclear powered aircraft carrier, supervising a crew of 65 sailors. He was awarded with the Navy Achievement Medal while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and was honorably discharged in 2009. Pete is excited to be elected to the Staff Senate and is looking forward to serving as the Treasurer.

Colton Underhill (2021)
Colton joined Pacific in 2010 as an undergrad and graduated in 2014 with a degree in psychology. He grew up in Banks, Oregon and spent a lot of time on the Banks track team. As a student he worked for UIS’s helpdesk and was hired on fulltime after he graduated and has been with UIS since. He works closely with student, faculty, and staff helping with their various technology needs. In his free time he likes the occasional physical labor chores and enjoys reading manga, playing games, grilling food, and spending time with his friends.

Amy Tracewell (2022)
Amy Tracewell works in University Advancement as a Major Gift Officer with an emphasis on Corporate and Foundation Relations. Her most recent previous work experience includes publisher of a weekly newspaper and Executive Director of a small hospital foundation. Amy values living and working in the same community and bringing people together to create community and economic vitality. She believes strongly in service, being good stewards of our resources, and in striving to celebrate what’s right in the world so that we can have the energy to tackle what’s wrong. Forest Grove is her home, where she lives with her husband Todd (who is the Electrician at Pacific), and her two cute dogs and one fat cat. When she and Todd aren’t fishing, they enjoy spending time with family, including Todd’s three daughters.
Austyn Allie (2021)
Austyn graduated from Pacific University in 2009 and began working for the School of Physician Assistant Studies in 2017. She has served on the IDEA committee and looks forward to working on the Professional Development Committee. She has spent the last 9 years serving on the Advisory Board for the Center for Gender Equity (CGE), where she is currently Board Chair. When she’s not at Pacific, Austyn works retail part-time on the weekends. She spends her free time hanging out with her family and her two cats, playing board games, and attending concerts and conventions.
Pam Arnold (2022)
Pam graduated with BA in Business Administration and Journalism from Pacific University. After enjoying a career in the corporate world for many years, she returned home to Pacific University in 2011. Pam is the Executive Assistant to the Vice Provost and Executive Dean of the College of Health Professions on the Pacific University Hillsboro Campus. Pam is passionate about the university and looks for opportunities to collaborate with colleagues as well as community partners in support of our students. Pam spends free time with her husband, three sons, and two dogs, and enjoys traveling as much as possible.
Jeane Canon (2022)
Jeane has worked for the College of Arts and Sciences since 1998 in various positions to support financial management and is currently the budget manager in the dean’s office. In addition, Jeane graduated from Pacific in January 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. While working and completing her studies, she served as the Staff Senate Treasurer in 2019 and 2020. Currently, Jeane serves as your staff representative on the University Finance Committee. She enjoys collaborating with others on campus and finding ways to implement efficiencies in our daily routines. Jeane’s hobbies include swimming, gardening, researching the benefits of essential oils, and hiking on weekends with her black lab.
Katrina Gust (2022)
Katrina grew up in the Forest Grove area and joined Pacific University in the spring of 2018. She started as an Office Assistant in the Vice Provost and Executive Deans office at the College of Health Professions campus, and transitioned to the Administrative Assistant for that office in January 2019. Katrina enjoys spending quality time with her husband and 4 year old daughter, working on home projects, camping, photography and trips to the coast.
Katie Lardy (2021)
I genuinely enjoy supporting students through their educational journey, and I value opportunities to collaborate with staff and faculty to support student learning. I served for 9 years as Assistant Director and Pathways Coordinator in the Career Development Center. My current role is in the School of Communication Sciences & Disorders as the Student Services Manager. I hope to provide inclusive, effective support to all members of the Pacific community with whom I interact. Serving in multiple roles at Pacific has provided me with a greater understanding and awareness of the various systems our valued staff members use at the university and how and where our roles intersect. I look forward to doing what I can to support the staff through the work of the Staff Senate.
Will Lindauer (2022)
Will began his career at Pacific in August 2017 when his wife got accepted into the PT program and informed him that they are moving to Oregon. He quickly fell in love with the university and the community surrounding it. Since joining UIS he has continued to work on improving the computer imaging and deployment processes to get new computers out to the employees as quick as possible. He currently serves on the Strategic Energy Management team and the Professional Development Committee where he has provided Windows 10 trainings and helped to plan the all staff conference. In his free time he enjoys birding with his wife, cooking, board games, and getting out into nature for hiking or camping.
Amy Rose (Vuylsteke) (2021)
In July of 2015 Amy began her career at Pacific. Working in the CHP Deans office for 3 years, she had the opportunity to interact with many different departments and colleges across the University. In January 2019, she began her new role as the Manager of Administrative Services in the Dental Hygiene Studies department. She is currently serving in her second year on the University’s Caring Committee and she enjoys volunteering at various events throughout the year. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, hiking with her dog and exploring new golf courses in the PNW.
Sara Summers (2022)
Sara joined Pacific University in Fall of 2017 as the Assistant Director of Graduate and Professional admissions for the Eugene campus. She moved to Eugene from Portland OR and enjoys the smaller city and all of its eccentricities. She enjoys helping students navigate the world of admissions and applying for grad school. Outside of work Sara likes to watch Netflix, hang out with her daughter, go to the aquarium as much as possible as well as the beach, reading, pretending to run but if she is being honest it is mostly walking with her dogs, planning for her future small farm with chickens, goats, and one rescue cow.
DeVonda Stoops-Hultin (2022)
DeVonda joined Pacific University December 2015 in the Business Office as part of the Accounts Payable team. She served two years on the University Diversity Committee and three years on the All Staff Conference Planning Committee. She is eager to collaborate with and contribute to the Senate and the University. When she is not at work, DeVonda enjoys spending time with her spouse and senior Pugs, reading, training in high-intensity fitness at home and a local gym, playing board games, and crafting with paper (and buttons…she always tries to put a button on it).
Sara Tapia-Guillen (2021)
Sara started at Pacific University Dental Hygiene Clinic in August 2008 as a part time dental Service coordinator and is now the Manager of Dental Patient Services. She works closely with students and patients. She is an advisor for Student hygiene Chapter for the Hispanic Dental Association. Spending time with family is a priority. She enjoys spending time with her girls and her dog, she loves dancing with her husband and going on road trips with her family.
Ashley Wellner (2021)
Ashley has called Pacific home for a combined 8 years, starting at the Portland Pacific Eye Clinic, and currently on the Forest Grove Campus in Conference & Event Support Services. Her current position as Assistant Director of Conference and Event Support Services requires knowledge of all of our facilities, resources, and community partners to help facilitate revenue & exposure of our wonderful locations! In her free time, Ashley loves fishing, camping, backyard BBQ’s and hanging out with her Boxer, Mia Louise Wellner.
