Senators are elected by a peer vote to represent staff at large and serve a two-year term.

Brad Hodges (2019)

Brad came to Pacific University first in 2005 as a contractor installing heating and air conditioning systems in many of the newer buildings on the FG campus. Then in late 2015 he became a permanent part of Pacific, replacing our retiring H.V.A.C. specialist.  Brad strives to make improvements to comfort and energy efficiency in our buildings.  When he is not at Pacific working hard, he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and three boys as much as he can.

Amy Callahan Tracewell (2020)

Amy Callahan Tracewell works in University Advancement as a Major Gift Officer with an emphasis on Corporate and Foundation Relations. Her most recent previous work experience includes publisher of a weekly newspaper and Executive Director of a small hospital foundation. Amy values living and working in the same community and bringing people together to create community and economic vitality. She believes strongly in service, being good stewards of our resources, and in striving to celebrate what’s right in the world so that we can have the energy to tackle what’s wrong. Forest Grove is her home, where she lives with her husband Todd (who is the Electrician at Pacific), and her two cute dogs and one fat cat. When she and Todd aren’t fishing, they enjoy spending time with family, including Todd’s three daughters.

Andrea Lybarger (2019)

Andrea joined Pacific University in fall of 2011 as Assistant Director of Graduate and Professional Admissions where she supports student recruitment and applicants for the College of Optometry. Andrea is a graduate of Southern Oregon University, holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and has previous work experience in online marketing and graduate admissions. Outside of the office, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs, being outdoors, and cooking.

Julie Gaida (2019)

Julie started as the libraries’ Acquisitions Specialist in June 2015. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of Texas at Dallas and her Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Washington. She enjoys helping others, and her current position includes buying items for the libraries’ collections and helping to maintain the library’s collection budget. She has served on the Staff Senate Governance Committee since January 2017. When she’s not working she’s probably knitting, reading, learning to sew, or giggling at her two pet rabbits’ many shenanigans.

Beth Ross (2020)

Beth graduated from Pacific University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2004.  She was hired to manage the School of Pharmacy Research Lab in 2011.  She is a member of the National Association of Scientific Materials Managers and serves on their Finance Committee.  She has also been actively involved in the University and Hillsboro campus safety committees for the majority of her employment.  Outside of work, Beth enjoys cooking, hiking, running, and spending time with her son.

Lisa Downing (2018)

Lisa started with Pacific University in 2012 as the inaugural and only employee in the College of Health Professions Continuing Education Program, where she continues to work today. Lisa coordinates continuing education so that healthcare professionals can meet continuing education requirements to maintain their licenses. She is driven by innovations in teaching and applying best practices to interprofessional healthcare education. Lisa earned an associate of science degree in Accounting from Matanuska Susitna Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Communication from Concordia University Portland. She is actively involved in many Pacific University committees and initiatives.

 

Senators

Miki Buckingham (2020)

Michelena “Miki” Buckingham came to Pacific University in 2015 as a Financial Assistant, and has recently taken on the role as the Continuing Education and Events Coordinator for the College of Optometry. Miki coordinates continuing education for Optometrists to ensure they meet their educational requirements to maintain their license. When she is not at work, she is actively involved as the team treasure for her son’s soccer club, and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children. Miki loves being able to work in the community that she lives in.

Jeane Canon (2020)

Jeane joined Pacific University in 1998 with the College of Arts and Sciences, first as a Secretary/Receptionist, then Administrative Assistant to the Arts Division, followed by Financial Specialist and now as a Budget Manager.  Jeane is working to obtain her bachelor’s degree in Marketing at Pacific and has experience managing the front office of a busy medical clinic, working as a merchant teller and customer service representative for a financial institution, and as a statistician for The Salvation Army divisional headquarters. Jeane’s favorite activities include swimming, metal working (i.e. making garden art from recycled cans), discovering good food and wine, learning to crochet, and spending time with her family and their two dogs.

David Cookman (2020)

David began his Pacific Career in October of 2006 when he was brought on as the plumber. He is a lifelong resident of Forest Grove/Cornelius and loves working in his home town. David has been married for 28 years and has 4 kids and currently resides in Cornelius. A few years back he took on the responsibility of the boilers on campus also. David's job requires a great sense of humor and he has one! He loves the challenge of keeping the old and new buildings running and functioning. When he's not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, and racing cars.

Katelyn Eisenhooth (2020)

Katelyn is the Assistant Director of International Programs. Her current position includes providing arrival assistance and orientation to all of Pacific’s international students and scholars as well as providing immigration advising and support services to them as well. She came to Pacific after serving as the senior international student advisor at Ohio University. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors in as many ways that she can (SUP, hiking, biking, running, etc.), performs music, and likes to try new recipes.

Vicki McGee (2021)

Vicki graduated from Pacific in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in Art.  That same year she began to work in the Athletic Department main office until she moved up to the School of Natural Sciences as an Administrative Assistant a few years ago.  She has worked on committees in the past and is currently helping on the all staff conference planning committee.  Outside of work Vicki enjoys spending time with her family, working outside in her yard and cheering on the Timbers and Liverpool FC.

Angela Moberg (2019)

Angela joined Pacific University in the fall of 2015 as the Director of Intramurals & Recreation. Within the Athletic Department, she also serves as a SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Advisor and oversees club sports. Prior to Pacific, Angela held various administration roles in health & fitness clubs, intercollegiate athletics and non-profit youth sports. She is a member of NIRSA, ACE certified and has a Bachelor’s in Human Performance: Sports & Fitness from Corban University and a Master’s in Sport Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. Outside of work, Angela enjoys trying every coffee shop, reading, playing volleyball (or any other sports possible), all the outdoor activities of the Northwest and cheering for the Seahawks.

Kristen Overton (2020)

Kristen joined Pacific University in Fall of 2015.  She currently serves as the Student Life Administrative Coordinator, monitoring and overseeing administrative services for Student Life.  She is also serves as the departmental representation for several university-wide committees.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in Personnel Psychology and Human Resource Management from Washington State University.  In her spare time, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, running, and wine-tasting.

Sara Tapia-Guillen (2019)

Sara stated at Pacific University Dental Hygiene Clinic in August 2008 as a part time dental Service coordinator and is now the Manager of Dental Patient Services.  She works closely with students and patients.  She is an advisor for Student hygiene Chapter for the Hispanic Dental Association. Spending time with family is a priority.  She enjoys spending time with her girls and her dog, she loves dancing with her husband and going on road trips with her family.

Ashly Tilden-Browning (2019)

Ashly is the Administrative Assistant for the Office of Student Academic Affairs and the Advising Center. She became a member of the Pacific community in March of 2011. Ashly is a graduate of Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences. She is the current co-chair of the Professional Development Committee. In her free time, Ashly enjoys growing dahlias and spending time with her husband and two sons.

Colton Underhill (2019)

Colton joined Pacific in 2010 as an undergrad and graduated in 2014 with a degree in psychology. He grew up in Banks, Oregon and spent a lot of time on the Banks track team. As a student he worked for UIS’s helpdesk and was hired on fulltime after he graduated and has been with UIS since. He works closely with student, faculty, and staff helping with their various technology needs. In his free time he likes the occasional physical labor chores and enjoys reading manga, playing games, grilling food, and spending time with his wife.

Jen Walsh (2020)

Jen re-joined Pacific University in 2013 after graduating in 2009. She began on the Hillsboro campus and has since moved to the Forest Grove campus working as the Executive Assistant to the Dean of the College of Business, supporting the faculty and staff of the College of Business. This is her second term serving on Staff Senate, in addition to a few other University committees. Jen and her Boxer husband enjoy raising their two daughters in Forest Grove and keep busy by being involved in the Forest Grove and Pacific communities.

Jayme Wong (2019)

Jayme started her journey at Pacific as an undergraduate in 2003, and graduated in 2006 with a degree in Business Administration and Concentration in Accounting, Finance and Marketing. After working for a bank then an Optometrist, she returned to Pacific in 2015 as a Student Account Coordinator in the Business Office. She loves to spend time with her family and friends, and tries to return to Hawaii, where she was born and raised, as much as possible.
