Pharmacy students in the lab
The Pacific University School of Pharmacy plans to launch a five-year on-campus pathway to a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree — the first of its kind.

Public Health Assistant Professor Adelle Monteblanco 
Public Health Assistant Professor Adelle Monteblanco has been recognized as one of 15 Emerging Scholars-nationally for 2023 in Diverse Issues In Higher Education. Learn more about her research, which focuses on inequality as it pertains to extreme heat and examining its health impacts on vulnerable populations.  
Dr. Andy Saultz has been appointed interim dean of the Pacific University College of Education starting July 1, 2023.
Police Bias Training
Pacific University and the Forest Grove Police Department are challenging bias, race and policing. In October, the university hosted a private training involving scenarios about the houseless, immigrants, and a mental health crisis. This weekend, the Pacific University Board of Trustees voted to rename the building currently known as Harvey W. Scott Memorial Hall. The building, which is scheduled to undergo renovations starting this spring, will be temporarily renamed Pacific Hall as the university embarks on work toward a permanent new name.
Amy Coplen
Professor Amy Coplen, the director of Pacific University’s School of Dental Hygiene Studies, was named the University of Michigan’s 2022 Dental Hygiene Alumna of the Year Award in recognition of her work to persuade the Oregon Legislature to allow the licensure of dental therapists.
Hossein Rikhtehgar Berenji
Pacific University College of Business Assistant Professor Hossein Rikhtehgar Berenji has received the Paul Lawrence Fellowship from the North American Case Research Association.
Support for veterans
Pacific University was named one of the West’s most supportive schools for military veterans by MilitarySupportiveColleges.com. It is one of three private institutions in Oregon that was highlighted for its full commitment to the Yellow Ribbon tuition program.
