Here in Pacific University's Outdoor Pursuits Office we are all about the passion and drive that it takes to get up, get going, and GO WILD!
Trips are run throughout the school year, taking students all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond to experience the great outdoors. Trips are geared towards students of all skill levels and are additionally accommodating to first timers. They range from single day to week long, and encompass a myriad of disciplines.
Our Mission | To inspire a spirit of growth and exploration by humbly and skillfully guiding others on outdoor adventure trips that empower, challenge, and connect people to nature and each other.
Gear Rentals also take place through our office. Boats, boards, backpacks and boots are just a small sampling of the equipment available for rent. While gear is available to all for renting, students, alumni, faculty and staff receive a discount on any and all gear they plan to use.
Students looking for deeper immersion in the outdoors, or to develop their leadership skills, will also find themselves at home in Outdoor Pursuit's Outdoor Leadership Minor, a rigorous series of classes that push students to test their preconceived limits as they develop technical and practical skills in the outdoors.
We love to discuss what we do, so come on over to the Milky Way (the big red building next to Maggie's Buns) and say hello. Or you can find stories of our adventures over on the Outdoor Pursuits blog. We try to update regularly, so come check it out! Whether you seek to test the waters by signing up for a day trip, or want to dive into a semester learning new skills in an academic course, Outdoor Pursuits has something for you.
